Dog and cat tear stains: .
What really is the scoop?
There are several products on the market that promote helping with tear stains.
Buyer beware! Although they do work, some of them have antibiotics in them. .
Do you really want to give your pets antibiotics every day just to clear up stains?
In an age of overuse of antibiotics is prevalent, we need to look at what we are giving to our pets too. .
So you ask what I can do?
First what causes the tear stains.
| Allergies | |
| Ear infections | |
| Your Pets Water | |
| Red Yeast Bacteria | |
| Food Change or Poor Diet | |
| Dysfunction Of the Tear Duct System |
If you've ever seen a dog or cat with red or brown marks in the areas around and just under the eyes, you've seen a pet that is suffering from tear staining. Some can assume that the stains are caused by excessive moisture from the eyes but is that relay the cause? There can be many factors to this condition. You might want to understand and figure out the root of the problem.
Epiphora caused by too many tears is an automatic response to irritants such as dust, infection, allergens, poor diet or a health problem. The excess tearing could be a health problem you do not realize your pet may have. It has been described as like when you have a runny nose. It is one way bodies rid themselves of toxins.
Sudden onset tearing staining in adult dogs:
One reason may be that you have recently changed your pets' diet. You should make the change to the new food more gradually.
Maybe you have moved to a new home (or pet day care) or you have new carpeting, furniture, a new pet or family member or other changes around your house or yard, suspect environment.
Puppy Tear Staining:
Puppies tear as they grow. They also tear when teething. This condition is normal and will often go away on its own. Please do NOT give antibiotics to puppies to stop tear staining. You may set them up for a lifetime of digestive disorders, discolored teeth, yeast infections and other health problems.
Dysfunction of the tear duct system:
Sometimes the tearing is because of Dysfunction of the tear duct. We recommend to always consult your Veterinarian first before trying any solution. Before investing hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars in a lifetime of tear stain products. This is especially important for Brachycephalic (flat faced) breeds like Shih Tzu and Lhasa Apso.
Ear infections:
Eye staining can be linked back to ear infections, so it's important to keep your dog or cat's ears as clean and dry as possible. If you notice that your pet is getting a lot of ear infections which also can coincide with excessive eye tearing, the two are probably related. We recommend using a mixed solution of water and Oxy-pH Boost for pets Sodium Chlorite Solution to help clean the ears. Then Total-Biotics® to help build up the immune system.
Allergies:
Dogs and cats can experience reactions to thing just like humans, and eye tear staining can often be a reaction to allergens or irritants. In fact, some pets will suffer reactions to their food which will change the pH level in your dog's system which in turn can cause excessive tearing. If you notice that your pets tear stains get worse in certain situations than it might be an environmental factor that is adding to the problem. We suggest you use Total-Zymes ® and Oxy-pH Boost for pets Sodium Chlorite Solution.
Red Yeast Bacteria:
One of the biggest causes of eye tear staining might be a high level of moisture that can keep the hair around the face wet, which then becomes an area where bacteria can breed. One of the most common forms of this bacteria, is called Red Yeast, which causes a yeast infection around the eyes and leads to the brownish-red stains that you sometimes see on dogs. We recommend and Oxy-pH Boost Sodium Chlorite Solution to help clean the face (do not get in eyes). Then Total-Biotics® to help build up the immune system and crowd out the bacteria.
Water:
Some waters contain a high mineral content, which can cause staining on the face and beard. A lot of moisture can remain on the face trapped in the hairs after your pet drinks, which can be moved to eye level by your dog or cat trying to lick his face clean. And, if the mineral content is high, it will increase the level of red-brown staining on face. If you notice both tear stains and a discolored fur, try switching the water to combat the problem. Add Oxy-pH Boost Sodium Chlorite Solution to your pet's water this will help keep it clean and boost their immune system.
Total-Biotics® helps to boost your dog's immune system and fight tear stains.
Oxy-pH Boost Sodium Chlorite Solution Helps with Bacterial Overgrowth, Kills Yeast while supporting healthy probiotics.

Some have noticed that their Dog or Cat's tear stains will diminished after a few weeks of taking Total-Biotics®.
We have found that if your pets Immune and digestive system are in balance you will see many beneficial side effects.
Not only do the Total-Zymes ® (digestive enzymes for pets) and Total-Biotics® (probiotics for pets) help with digestion but also;
| Cats have less hair balls issues. | |

But why does my pet need so many enzymes? We have looked into many dog, cat foods and treats. Did you know that your pet could be getting added sugars and dairy products? We have noticed this trend when we went to the largest pet expo in the US. So we have added additional enzymes to our already superior formula to handle this trend.
We always advise that you do not give your pets sugar but there is a lot of hidden sugars and dairy you sometimes do not know about in that cute little doggie and kitty cake and cookies.
It is very hard to digest cooked and processed food as it, so this is why we have now 16 enzymes so you're pet can handle any type of treat or food.
- STUDIES REVEALED ABOUT PROBIOTICS IN PET FOOD
|
Quality Food is Only The Beginning! |

|
Probiotics and prebiotics in processed pet food have become a new trend. Many people think if they are using a food with probiotics and prebiotics, that's enough. But maybe they were just sold a bag of goods. |
"Nineteen diets were tested. Thirteen were for dogs and 6 were for cats. All claimed to contain specific organisms or probiotics. Two products listed 1 or more bacterial species as ingredients, while 12 listed fermentation products of probiotic species, and 5 listed both organisms and fermentation products. One product claimed to contain Streptococcus faecium, which was reclassified as Enterococcus faecium in 1984 (7). Five products misspelled 1 of the listed species. Bacterial growth was present in all products; however, as the purpose of this study was to evaluate the contents of the diets compared with those claimed on the label, no attempt was made to identify organisms that were not included on the list of ingredients. No products contained all of the claimed organisms, while 1 or more of the listed contents were isolated from 10 out of 19 (53%) products (Table 1). Eleven products contained additional, related organisms, including Pediococcus spp, which were isolated from 4 products. Five (26%) products did not contain any relevant growth. Interpretation of these results is confounded somewhat by the questionable labelling of some products. Twelve diets listed only specific bacterial fermentation products (L. acidophilus fermentation product) as ingredients, while 5 diets claimed to contain both specific organisms and fermentation products. Fermentation products of lactic acid bacteria or bacilli are typically included as a source of enzymes. This does not necessarily indicate that live organisms are present and, based on the definition provided above, these would not be considered to be probiotics."
We have put all our efforts into creating
Total-zymes® and
Total-biotics®, the best
on the market for your companion.
Enzymes and Pro-biotics are used to protect your pet friend against pathogenic bacteria's invasion that could make him sick. Helping them digest the quality food you give them. Also is great to promote the production of nutrients including several complexes of vitamin B, folic acid, it also aids in the absorption of calcium.
Not All Probiotics Are The Same.
Many cheap probiotics are unstable and lose their beneficial properties in the stomach before the probiotics can reach the intestine. The intestine is where the probiotics need to implant in order to seed the intestinal tract with healthy flora.
Why do some probiotics need to be refrigerated and
others not?
Probiotics are live cultures and are generally unstable at temperatures over 75 degrees. HOWEVER, the temperature inside the body is well over 75 degrees, not to mention that the probiotics would have to pass through hostile stomach acid and bile to get to the intestine. So what is the answer? The answer is to buy a probiotic supplement that contains stabilized strains of bacteria. The fact is, a probiotic that requires refrigeration is a red flag that it is not stable and will die on impact with the body. Make sure you read the label of any probiotics to be sure that the probiotics are stabilized. Look at the label and make sure they actually have at least more than three or four and high CFU's.
Many Pet products are not certified by NSF International and in full compliance with GMP Requirements for Dietary Supplements. All of our probiotics and enzymes have this high standard and are all human grade.
Not all Enzyme Products Are The Same.
Many enzyme products do not have enough different enzymes to insure a complete digestion of pet food. They will only have the major 4 enzymes. You need a high performance, broad-spectrum digestive enzyme formula utilizing at least 14 vegetarian enzymes. The product must add in the formula the proper minerals needed to complete this process. In nature minerals are always with enzymes they compliment each other. If you do not have them together it will deplete the body of the necessary minerals to help in digestion. Always look to see if the product you are using has any type of minerals in it.
THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT POINTThe product must add into the formula the proper blend minerals needed to complete this process. In nature minerals are always with enzymes they compliment each other. If you do not have the proper blend of minerals together with the enzymes it will deplete YOUR PET'S system of those necessary minerals needed for good health. Always look to see if the product you are using has these types of chelated minerals in it. Our products all have the (L.E.A.D.S.®) system. L.E.A.D.S.® which is our Live Enzyme Activated Delivery System® is formulated to match the specific needs of each individual product made by Ultra-Pet Products and are based on a very unique and proprietary method.

It is always recommended to use enzymes with probiotics for a complete digestive solution. Enzymes will help your pets digestion and absorption of their food. A growing number of vets are stating that cooked or processed pet food is the main cause of illness and premature death in the modern house pet! Animals are meant to eat a 100% raw diet, but is that practical. So adding enzymes with probiotics makes it a complete digestion solution. |
Our products do not contain any, chemicals, gluten, soy, dairy, also wheat free, no eggs, no preservatives, no artificial coloring or flavoring which may cause reactions in some animals
